The purpose of this Portfolio：

This is my ePortfolio, its main purpose is to show my academic achievements and progress. It mainly displays information such as degrees, majors, courses, academic experiences, projects, sample assignments, study plans, resumes, previous internships, professional skills, and career goals.

About Me:

Hello, everyone. My name is Baizhong Hou. You can also call me Jason. The weather in my hometown has four distinct seasons. It’s a bit like Washington D.C., but it’s much colder in winter. I have been married for almost four years and have a child who is almost one year old. Child is a big challenge for me. This also made me deeply understand that “without children, you will never understand how much your parents put into their children, how hard they work.

I got my bachelor’s degree in China with a major of Chemistry. In America, I study at George Mason University and my major is data analytics, which is a subject of collecting, analyzing, and reporting data. Before I came to the United States, I had five years of working experience in China. At work, I realized that I still needed more business knowledge to develop better, so I am now at Mason. When I was in China, I opened my own company and learned how to make a decision, communicate with all kinds of people, distribute duties to employees, and balance all kinds of things in life.

In George Mason, I study hard and spend my best effort on every subject. I have almost finished all my fundamental courses for data analysis and am going to step into the final progress of the graduate study for a deeper study on data. Before I learned Data Analytics, I had no concept of this major, so I want to learn more business knowledge and computer software knowledge through this major. I think only through my continuous learning can I get closer to my dream.

Finally, I want to talk about my life. My favorite sport is soccer. When I was in China I used to take my dog and my friends to play soccer on weekends. At the same time, I also have a lot of friends in China, we often find time to have a party together, and I am also a person who likes to make friends. I hope I can get a good job and make friends during the job.
